Vision

We envision a world where creativity is accessible to everyone, craftsmanship is celebrated, and durable, artful goods take precedence over disposable items. Through teaching and product development, we aim to become a premier provider of leatherworking education, offer durable, beautiful goods in retail and online markets, expand our surface pattern designs into licensing and print-on-demand offerings, and foster a community of makers and collectors who value craftsmanship.

How It Started

Westbrook Findings began with a hammer, a beginner’s kit from Tandy Leather, and a desire to make something that would last. In 2013, after two years of practicing, Jenna Westbrook opened an Etsy shop to sell her handcrafted leather goods. She had recently fallen in love with both a mountain man who is now her husband, and the wilderness of Colorado. She began a life full of campfires, hiking trails, and rugged landscapes. At this time, surrounded by the timeless beauty of the West, her fascination with functional art took root.

Raised by a mother who created thousands of quilts in her lifetime, Jenna grew up in her mother’s sewing room surrounded by fabric, the rhythmic hum of a sewing machine, and the intentional focus on handmade art. Combining that heritage with a self-taught passion for leatherwork and design, she is crafting a line of goods that resonates beyond her Denver workshop. Her creations have traveled to customers around the world, each piece echoing the values that inspire them.

At the heart of Westbrook Findings is a philosophy of treating nature with reverence. Our relationship with nature calls for respect and humility. But nature is also used, not in the Enlightenment sense of conquering and controlling for our material gain. As N. Scott Momaday once wrote, “You say that I use the land, and I reply, yes, it is true; but it is not the first truth. The first truth is that I love the land; I see that it is beautiful; I delight in it; I am alive in it.”

Westbrook Findings has since evolved into offering a range of products, including leather goods, textile designs, and educational resources that celebrate functional art. What started as a small Etsy store has become a larger mission: to help people connect with their environment, their creativity, and their capacity to build something that will endure.
